Job Summary

First American is seeking a Senior Searcher in the Rochester office.

Essential Functions

* Completes all types of abstract products including full title, subdivision work and some commercial work.

* Must be able to complete full title searches and be able to handle multiple chains of title.

* Maintain up to date records for subdivision masters and builder lists.

* Plotting difficult metes and bounds legal descriptions.

* Full understanding of surrogates work.

* Proofreading final typed product, when necessary and handling multiple tasks with accuracy and speed.

* Answering client's abstract related questions and resolving any outstanding issues quickly.

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

* Strong attention to detail and tenacity for solving difficult issues

* Strong MS skill set

* Strong investigative, research, and problem solving skills

* Verbal and written communication skills

* Knowledge of company terminology, search department procedures and tools.

* Able to navigate company operating systems

* High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred

* 3+ years related experience

* Competence in mapping legal descriptions
