Families First of Minnesota has a position open for an Early Head Start Specialist in its Early Head Start Program. This position provides guidance, coaching, training and technical assistance to classroom teaching staff who work in childcare partnership classrooms serving EHS children. This position works with program staff to improve the quality of teaching, assist programs to promote positive, significant sustained outcomes for children and promote career development for teaching staff working in Early Head Start partner sites. This position supports the family service requirements for all families enrolled in assigned childcare partner sites.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or Associate's degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Education, or related field with early childhood coursework. Three to five years of teaching experience in Head Start or equivalent education and experience desirable. Candidates must be familiar with current research and understand how that research can be translated into classroom instruction. Experience in providing and implementing early childhood education service activities and training for teaching staff and parents preferred. Experience working with families from diverse and low-income populations is a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. The ideal candidate will be a team player who supports the Head Start philosophy of partnering with families, supporting staff and seeking continuous improvement.
