Residential Rehab Aide- Part time (24 hours per week) 11:00pm-7:30 am; every other weekent and some holidays.

Bridgeway is an Adult Foster Care group home located in Rochester Hills (border of Rochester Hills and Troy). It is a 5 bed facility servicing adults with traumatic brain injuries sustained mainly in motor vehicle accidents. This position provides direct personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing) but associates are also responsible for taking clients to medical appointments, as well as, recreational outings (shopping, ball games, movies, etc). Company vehicles are provided for transporting all clients in the community. Some light housekeeping/cooking is involved in this position

What You Will Do:

Provide informal training and direct care to adult foster care group home clients based on person-centered plans, individual needs/requests and daily household operations.

  • Supervise, train, and/or assist clients in accordance with the person-centered plan, including personal care, recreation, and reinforcement of individual habilitation objectives.
  • Assure client's personal property and adaptive equipment is clean and in good order including wheelchair, clothing and living space. Plan, schedule and transport clients to work, appointments and community activities.
  • Administer and document routine medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and/or health care professionals.
  • Assist individuals with meal preparation and encourage good nutritional habits and adherence to prescribed diets.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Certification specializing in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. HeartSaver (CPR or First Aid) or equivalent is acceptable.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Additional Preferences:

  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities (i.e. traumatic brain injuries) preferred.
  • BLS with HeartSaver/First Aid Certification required.
  • The candidate selected for this position will require fingerprinting(to be scheduled and paid for by Ascension) and 2 personal reference checks
