The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Senior Collections Specialist.

The Senior Collection Specialist performs many of the same duties as a Collection Specialist but functions as an experienced collector who works high dollar accounts, assists in high dollar review projects, works to identify trends/issues with payers, assists in pulling AR reports, and serves as an additional resource to the collections department

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work and monitor high dollar outstanding claims or special collection work list.
  • Provides assistance to collection manager and team lead by reviewing and/or creating daily, weekly and monthly reports as assigned.
  • Participates in the training of new hires and ongoing in services as appropriate concerning areas of responsibility and payer specific updates.
  • Assist department manager and team leads with developing group departmental goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

This position must work effectively with other employees, patients, insurance companies and other outside parties. Proactive, assertive articulates knowledge and understanding of payer claims philosophies. Guides individuals internally and externally to desired outcomes. Develops strong working relationships with major payers to assure timely resolution of claims processing issues. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Customer focused, providing service consistently exceeding expectations to both internal and external customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and others as required. Ability to prioritize needs and to manage resources. Must consistently go above and beyond expectations in the practice of Service Excellence. High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years collections experience preferred. Independent judgement necessary.
