Resident Flex Counselor Part-time, Hourly/Nonexempt Reports to the Staff Supervisor

Summary The Resident Flex Counselor serves as a positive role model for residents to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors. Contributes to the formulation and implementation of the resident treatment plan, and completes direct care duties as detailed below.

Responsibilities:

Provide transportation, accompany, and directly supervise residents on outings, activities, and appointments in the community

Facilitate resident community meetings

Guide residents in personal hygiene techniques, proper housekeeping and laundry procedures

Administer first aid and medication as appropriate

Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with residents

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a human services field plus one year of related work experience, or

Associate's degree in a human services field plus three years of related work experience, or

a high school diploma or GED plus four years of related work experience, or

equivalent combination of education and experience

Valid Driver's License and favorable driving record (no more than 2 moving violations and one at-fault accident in the last 3 years; no DUIs in the last 5 years)
