Role Overview:

Plans, organizes and conducts comprehensive Employee Concerns related investigations consistent with company, corporate and applicable government orders, guides, regulations, and contract requirements. Provides an informed evaluation of risk of violations and non-compliances. Presents clear, concise and factual reports that enable fair and relevant decisions to be made. Recommends proactive measures that will reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future. Contributes to and participates in the development of value-added Employee Concerns training programs, group-specific compliance programs and related policies, procedures and instructions. Reports to and receives functional guidance and direction from responsible supervisor or manager.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Conducts and manages investigations consistent with applicable department procedure, Department of Energy (DOE), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) orders, guides, regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Prepares employee concerns investigation reports.
  • Manages cases within the Bechtel Case Management System.
  • Makes recommendations to management to resolve employee concerns.
  • Advanced knowledge in developing leading indicators for employee concerns and monitors metrics and trends to improve processes and management of concerns.
  • Ensures Employee Concerns related risk areas are identified and monitored using formal and informal assessments and gap analysis — taking steps as necessary to continually improve the program.
  • Conducts research into Employee Concerns related rules, regulations, policies, practices, and applicable contract requirements.
  • Develops new and updated Employee Concerns related training, including safety conscious work environment training and presents material to employee audiences.
  • Answers internal inquiries about the Employee Concerns Program, educating employees and managers on the program.
  • Communicates with internal and external contacts regarding employee concerns, issues, and initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Law, Quality, or a related field.
  • Grade 25: Requires 6+ years of related professional experience and a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Grade 26: Requires 9+ years of related professional experience and a bachelor’s degree or 15+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Candidate possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated investigation experience, including interviewing and writing investigation reports.
  • Ability to analyze and organize data and information gathered to support investigative findings.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Broad knowledge of employee concerns disciplines (Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental, Waste-Fraud-Abuse, Security, Corruption, and Reprisal for engaging in protected activities).
  • Broad knowledge of Employee Concerns policies and practices.
  • Knowledge of customer’s organization structures and functions applicable to the Employee Concerns Program.
  • Previous work experience in Employee Concerns programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in the government or nuclear power environment.
  • Broad knowledge of Bechtel’s organizational structure, functions, and procedures.
