Please review the following job description:

Pursue prescribed training programs in preparation for Financial Industry Regulatory Association Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as a Life and Health insurance license, while learning to develop and maintain client relationships to be able to provide suitable investment products to meet the properly qualified clients' needs, while achieving income for the firm in preparation for the role of Financial Advisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Learn the body of knowledge required to achieve the licenses.

2. Learn all financial products and services offered by the firm.

3. Learn sales concepts required to gather assets, properly qualify clients for various investment products offered by the firm, and achieve revenue objectives to be considered a performer in the role.

4. Learn how to properly record transactions and inquiries, and to see that the customer files are correctly completed and maintained to conform to regulatory policies using the systems required to accomplish this.

5. Learn the responsibilities outlined in the firm's Written Supervisory Procedures to ensure conduct of future client relationships are consistent with firm policy and practices.

6. Learn about other affiliations with BB&T Scott & Stringfellow to include clearing and BB&T Capital Markets to better understand what they provide to the role of Financial Advisor.

7. Learn the Integrated Relationship Management process to be able to provide the services of the total organization in future client relationships.

8. To the extent allowed by regulation, participate in on-the-job training that allows for the practical application of certain concepts and behaviors to be developed to be successful in the role of Financial Advisor.

Required Skills and Competencies:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training

2. Sales experience

3. Ability to achieve the required licenses within 180 days of employment

4. Ability to communicate complex financial products clearly and accurately to potential clients, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and accurately to internal support to be sure that the clients' needs are understood and met

5. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to persuade others

6. The ability to master the requirements of the systems used by the SSI Financial Advisor including Microsoft Office Suite, Thompson One, Camp, Mobius and Price Metrix

7. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications
