Group Engineering Leader

Come join the QuickBooks Online Payroll team as a Group Engineering Manager to lead our Reno, Nevada site. Intuit is searching for a hands-on product development leader for multiple scrum teams with key responsibilities in service decomposition, compliance, and agent tools. Responsibilities

* Build high performing teams by putting the right people in the right job at the right time

* Grow and develop our engineers into strong technical leaders

* Set individuals and teams up for success

* Embrace new ideas that produce outstanding results for our customers

* Create shared vision and build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and alignment with partners across the business (e.g. Product Management, Business Operations, Tax Operations, and Payroll engineering teams in Mountain View and San Diego, California)

* Ensure government agency compliance when changes in payroll tax code require changes to the product

* Partner with our customer success organization to create agent tool experiences that allow our agents to effectively and efficiently support and delight our customers

* Lead efforts in our journey to decompose our monolith into microservices for key areas related to direct deposit, agency enrollments, tax filings, and tax payments

* 5 years experience as an established technical leader of software engineering teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven software products

* Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams

* Adept at articulating the product vision and drive the future roadmap with strong business acumen

* Ability to think and act strategically for all stakeholders

* Passion for being at the leading edge of technology with a minimum of 12 years of hands-on software development experience

* Experience with Agile development and methodologies and SaaS technologies

* BS in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience

* Solid experience with Java

* Experience working with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, etc. is required

* Experience working with AWS or other cloud computing solutions

* Proven experience working with web services to connect business systems, interact with data feeds or payment gateways, etc. is highly desired

* Ability to analyze large, complex software applications and determine where to implement code to add required functionality

* Proven ability to write solid, well-tested, commercial quality code

* Experience with basic accounting and/or business principles is a plus
