About the Position: This position is located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama with the U.S. Army Materiel Command Operations & Logistics Integration Directorate, Organic Industrial Base Sustainment Operation Division.

* Develops, refines analyzes,and issues logistics policies.

* Reviews, anlayzes and evaluates current or projected logisitics programs to determine their overall effectiveness in achieving full logistics support of equipment/systems

* Monitors and reviews policy and procedural information.

* Composes correspondence and prepares study reports identifying decisions, recommendations, and policy actions initiated to accomplish logistics support objectives.

* Enchancing logistics readiness and support effectiveness.

* Manages efforts to identiy financial, supply, maintenance, transportation and manpower services required in devloping mobilization programs which provide logisitcs readiness supportfor numerous units/activiites within large geographical areas.

* Leads evaluation teams, inspection teams and study groups formed to evaluate logistics readiness support to Army units/activities.

* Serves as a leader and/or an active particpant of component/agency/comman conferences, meetings or seminars to develop or recommend new or revised processes, techniques, concepts or policies.

* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

* Must be willing to travel via commerical or military plane for TDY.

* Must be willing to travel long distances away from duty station up to 15% of the time.

* This is a Term Position not to exceed 5 years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes directing, developing, or functioning as part of a logistics management operation for an organization involved in providing logistical support to a specified mission, weapons system, or other program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
