DevOps Engineer - IRES - Huntsville

The DevOps Engineer will support the IRES Missile Defense Agency contract with work at Schriever AFB, Colorado. The DevOps engineer will support the agile development process and be responsible for design and implementation of applications' build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/updating solutions, building and executing test plans, performing quality reviews, managing operations, and triaging and fixing operational issues DevOps. The engineer must be able to adjust to constant business change with common types of changes including new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies. The engineer must be able to interact, develop, and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with clients, vendors, and partners at all levels of a professional organization.


Requirements: BS Degree and 15 years' experience including 8 years related experience and 4 years in management or leadership roles. Candidate must possess an Active DOD Secret clearance or higher and possess at least one of the following certifications: AWS (DevOps/SysOps); Linux (e.g. RHCE); Windows (e.g. MSCE). Must possess strong analysis and programming experience working in applications, systems or IT operations. Must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software products, and automation tools and workflow scripting. Must be able to demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications/ systems using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of technologies and environments.

Desired: A strong grasp of automation tools and experience with SCRUM/Agile, e.g. Atlassian JIRA, Confluence highly desired; a working knowledge of two or more programming languages; frequent, incremental code, testing; experience with Linux (e.g. RedHat based distros, Windows 7/2012 ); experience with software build management (e.g. Maven, Jenkins/Hudson, Git/Github); experience with Shell scripting/programming (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl); experience using Linux tools; experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Salt, and/or Chef); experience with networking (e.g. TCP/IP stack, IPv4, IPv6, Subnetting); experience with Amazon Web Services ( e.g. EC2, Management Console, CloudWatch, VPC).
