Northrop Grumman is looking for a Section Manager within the Electronics and Payloads COE's Product Engineering Department to lead the Digital Electronics Packaging section. The Product Engineering Department is an organization of 100 engineers that performs advanced packaging development and mechanical design & analysis of electronic products for a variety of space and air programs. Responsibilities include assisting the management team in the vision, leadership and execution of Product Engineering functions including mechanical design / electronic packaging and related software / tools / process optimization and automation. Specific responsibilities include functional & performance management of a section of direct employees, purchased labor and summer interns (10-15 people total); assisting in day-to-day operations, new business proposal & costing support; performing employee development, career planning and mentorship; interfacing with programs and other functional organizations; working staffing & recruiting activities; developing new and streamlining current processes and tools; assisting in technical & personnel issue resolution; performing technical review of hardware designs and analyses. Section Heads within the Product Engineering Department perform a dual role – functional manager with part-time responsibilities as outlined above (~25%), as well as a technical role direct to a program (~75%).

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic packaging, mechanical design and analysis

* Experience with the overall payload development process

* US citizenship required

* Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access in a timely manner

* Knowledge of Functional Homeroom processes (Staffing, Tools/Processes, Metrics, Training)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience

* Familiarity with NGAS technical and administrative processes and procedures highly desirable

* Electronics design development and sustaining experience (cradle to grave)

* Experience with Creo, Intralink, Enovia software applications

* Experience supporting bid and proposal activities

* Familiarity with electrical design, electronics manufacturing organizations and processes

* Familiarity with advanced packing focus areas and technologies

* Strong team-building, people, mentoring, coaching, and communication skills

* Ability to integrate, engage and lead teams
