Outpatient School Coordinator

Position Summary: An Outpatient School Coordinator provides individual, family and/or group therapy to children, adolescents and adults. Assists individuals to promote the independence in managing mental health needs and/or behavior problems. Oversees marketing and development of the school therapy program.

Summary of Essential Position Functions: Provide therapy (individual, family or group) to clients on a regularly scheduled basis

Complete all paperwork within policy time frames

Attend all staff meetings

Make referrals to appropriate community resources

Transfer skills to client to promote independence

Comply with all state mandated regulations

Participates in supervision within policy time frames

Provides onsite supervision to school therapists

Performs chart audits for the school based files

Builds positive relationships with school districts, county representatives, and managed care

Develops program expansion

Provides SAP team support and teacher development trainings as requested by school districts

Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Credentials: Licensed Mental Health Clinician, or Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Social Worker, or Graduate Mental Health degree and at least one (1) year full-time paid experience in a CAASP system (Children &Youth, Juvenile Probation, Mental Health, Education, D&A) or Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health and five (5) years experience in a CAASP system AND Clearances for Child Abuse, FBI and State Criminal & Liability Insurance

Special/Technical Skills: Individual and family therapy experience Knowledge of mental health systems and community resources Must be able to intervene and control agitated clients through non-physical interventions. Hazards include risk of exposure to disease and risk of physical injury associated with psychiatric patients who have the potential to act out or lose control

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

* Graduate Mental Health Degree with 1 year experience in a CAASP system or a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience in CAASP

* Microsoft Office Proficient

* Clearances for Child Abuse, FBI, and Criminal Check

* Licensed Mental Health Clinician preferred

* Knowledge of mental health systems and community resources

* Must be able to intervene and control agitated clients through non-physical interventions.
