Required Skills, Experience and Education Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology

* Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time

* Excellent research and problem resolution skills

* Must be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* Work effectively in a fast paced high volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

* 1 year of Clinical Toxicology Experience

* 2-5 years of experience performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and equipment installations, preferably in a high tech, medical or laboratory equipment

The Biomedical Electronics Technician position works highly independently with lab management, staff and building services team to ensure the laboratory equipment is installed, serviced, maintained, repaired and calibrated in an effective timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled repairs, maintenance, and calibrations on laboratory equipment and support systems such as centrifuges, air and vacuum pumps, heaters, mixers, water purification systems, thermometers, refrigerators, filtration equipment, general lab equipment and pneumatic equipment.

* Respond to maintenance requests by email, telephone, or in person as situation requires.

* Schedules work orders.

* Organizes work to maintain efficiency to ensure all critical tasks are completed daily.

* Interact and coordinate with department managers and supervisors and in order to coordinate work with minimal impact on production.

* Reports daily to management on the status of work order requests and work in progress.

* Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental guidelines and processes.

* Back-Up and assist on various functions as required.
