About our Job

The Department of Public Works is seeking an experienced Engineering Services Administrative Secretary to provide clerical and administrative support for our Engineering Division. This position will provide initial customer service by answering phones and directing calls to appropriate individuals throughout the department.

Job duties may include (but are not limited to):

* Prepare and send to media outlets - PSA's and advertisements for bid

* Distributing plans and specifications for projects advertised for bid

* Maintain the Engineering Services calendar of events, schedules meetings and other appointments

* Assists in budget preparation and preparation of other fiscal and financial data and records.

About You

We are looking for an organized and motivated professional with strong oral and written communication skills. Must have data input, Microsoft Office and customer service skills as well as a strong attention for detail. We need someone with the ability to take direction from different types of people as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly changing organizational demands.

* The ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and requirements

* The ability to quickly master new technologies and responsibilities

* A hard working, self-starter who has an interest in providing administrative support and recommendations for administrative continuous improvements.

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

* 3 years of related work experience in the administrative field

Additional Information

Administrative Skills: This position requires administrative testing in typing at 50 wpm and alpha numeric data entry at 100 kpm net of error.

Pre-employment Screening: An offer of employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check.
