Past experience in hotels, spas, casinos, country clubs, restaurants, bars or coffee shops would be a plus for those interested. In this role you will assist with the overall operation and supervision of the Housekeeping department overseeing housekeepers, public area attendants, laundry and house persons to ensure cleanliness standards and overall guest care, satisfaction and safety are provided.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Ensure that housekeeping associates get the training and support necessary to be successful.

* Provide Supervision of assigned Housekeeping associates and areas to make sure team members have the resources, tools and knowledge necessary to complete assignments in a timely and effective manner.

* Assist with the daily operation of the Housekeeping department and act as manager for the department as applicable.

* Assist in coaching and counseling associates associate(s) when necessary.

* Follow all Marcus Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures, OSHA standards and procedures, and key control procedures.

* Participate in the promotion of safety and security in assigned areas.

* Perform manual duties of subordinates as necessary to cover temporary staff shortages.

* Ensure furniture, facilities, and equipment are maintained and in good repair.

* Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guest and associate requests/issues.

* Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience preferred. Past work in hospital cleaning and care, nursing home maintenance, university housekeeping and general services or other roles specific to night cleaning, deep cleaning, and post fire or flood restoration would provide a good match.

* Stamina to perform a very physically demanding role that will have you on your feet most of the day, walking great distance and climbing stairs regularly.

* Must be able to lift, push, pull and or carry up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to bend, kneel, lift, grasp, stretch, use a vacuum and push a cart on a regular and continuous basis.

* Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.

* Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance in the English language.

* Ability to communicate effectively to associates in a secondary language, in this case Spanish, is preferred.

* Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
