Lead Product Designer (Visual Designer/UI)



HireRight is seeking a Lead Product Designer (Visual Designer/UI) to interpret customer needs and turn those needs into thoughtful designs. Product Designers at HireRight are creative user advocates who effectively articulate their ideas and insights when collaborating with product managers, marketers, and developers, to continually innovate at various stages of product development. This role is responsible for the entire user experience lifecycle including, research, journey-mapping, concept ideation, and prototyping, creating detailed graphical user experience design solutions, validation research, analytics review, and providing cohesiveness that drives revenue.


  • Apply modern design principles and user-centered design methodologies to create an excellent responsive web experience for our users
  • Define, create, and communicate the experience direction using appropriate tools to describe intent. This includes sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and animations
  • Lead every stage of product design life cycle including research, ideation, low fidelity design iteration, high fidelity design iteration, animation, and export assets that can be utilized by developers throughout development cycles
  • Collaborate with product managers, marketers, business managers, and developers to define and deliver features
  • Plan and execute research activities including tool and method selection, participant recruitment, conducting sessions, and findings synthesis (you’re not a lone wolf, so you’ll have the support of the rest of the product design team to help you with this!)
  • Create effective and thoughtful product solutions by considering quantitative and qualitative data; behavioral analytics, customer feedback, and research findings
  • Design solutions that drive revenue and improve retention
  • Bring inspiring and creative ideas into an energetic and collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide mentorship for more junior product designers


  • 6 + years of experience working in a startup, a progressive B2B or consumer-based company
  • Expert proficiency of interaction design, information architecture and visual design
  • Experience leading the design of a product within a cross-functional team
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills
  • Experience working with and constructing Design Systems and working knowledge of components libraries
  • Proven experience designing mobile-first experiences, as well as responsive and/or Progressive Web Application product experiences
  • A clear understanding of usability, user-centered design, accessibility, and web standards
  • Proven experience designing for ancillary product touchpoints such as email, text and chat-based interactions
  • Successful management of stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Illustrator, Principle, and Lottie
  • A portfolio that demonstrates expertise with mobile design, and problem-solving in the various phases of user-centered design
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Degree in Design-related field
