POSITION: Adjunct to Bar Success

DEPARTMENT: Norman A Wiggins School of Law - Raleigh

STATUS: Adjunct, Temporary


The Department of Bar Success at Campbell University School of Law is seeking qualified adjunct instructor(s) to assist with the administration of the bar preparation program. This is a temporary position from June 1, 2018 until July 25, 2018. Adjuncts are compensated $2500.00 for the program. Adjuncts will work remotely to grade, comment and return student essays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Read, review and comment on practice bar essays

* Provide consistent and helpful feedback and writing and legal analysis

* Meet all applicable deadlines as assigned

* Promptly respond to student questions on class assignments

* Submit student grade reports after each assignment


* Juris Doctor required

* North Carolina law license preferred but previous bar exam teaching experience considered

* Previous teaching experience is a plus

* Demonstrated abilities for working in an independent setting

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written communications

* Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with students

* Work independently without supervision and manage work load of 20-25 hours per week

* Exercise independent judgment and research law as needed to respond to questions

* Broad knowledge of North Carolina law or willingness to research/ask for appropriate answers

* Internet access and ability to work from remote location
