Mission Statement

The Defense Security Service (DSS) strengthens national security at home and abroad through our security oversight and education operations. DSS oversees the protection of U.S. and foreign classified information and technologies in the hands of cleared industry under the National Industrial Security Program by providing professional risk management services. As Functional Manager for the Department of Defense (DoD), DSS provides security education, training, certification, and professional development for the DoD and for other U.S. Government personnel, contractor employees, and representatives of foreign governments.

Responsibilities

* Manage the planning, direction, formulation and execution of the agencys overall day to day financial management activities.

* Coordinate with the CFO on long-range work plans developed by subordinates.

* Oversee the review and revision of plans, programs, goals, and objectives.

* Provide a wide range of financial management services and operations for a variety of nationwide programs.

* Provide financial management services and advice to program managers and resource advisors on a variety of support and administrative operations.

* Manage and oversee the development and implementation of new policies, approaches, and procedures to mitigate problems and situations.

* Direct a financial management division that consists of subordinate organizations which are further subdivided, and require significant coordination to effectively direct, plan and control work.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Experience must be reflected in your resume.

Specialized experience required for this position is:

Senior level knowledge directing the work of an agency under the financial management division. Managing and planning the direction of the execution of the overall day to day financial management activities (i.e., programming, budgeting, execution, accounting, WCF, financial systems and audits). Oversee the review and revision of plans, programs, goals and objectives. Manage the development of policy and programs changes. Supervises the personnel and activities in FMD.

Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

4. Decision Support.
