What we're looking for

This paralegal will assist with disputes and litigation including claim management, document production, discovery, and provide additional support as needed to the legal team.

What you'll do

  • Assist attorneys in managing claims, complaints, dispute resolution, subpoenas, and other legal matters as necessary, including:
  • Manage-litigation holds, docket calendar, and other deadline tracking
  • Conduct initial evaluation of claims made by owners and guests
  • Gather documentation and help compile discovery
  • Draft and manage correspondence with owners, guests, insurance companies and internal stakeholders
  • Assist attorneys in managing business entities and operations
  • File documents with courts, arbitrators, and government agencies
  • Assist legal counsel in analyzing and summarizing legal documents, researching applicable law, and applying and communicating findings as appropriate
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time to advance company goals

The skills and experience you'll need

  • Minimum of 2 years recent paralegal or similar legal experience in law firm and/or in-house position; in-house experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to research and digest a wide array of rules and regulations
  • Ability and motivation to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task proficiently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to track and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Thorough understanding of litigation process; general understanding of insurance claims process, contract law, and business organizations
  • Have a facility with typical office software; experience with Google Suite preferred
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Paralegal degree or certification (preferred)
  • Reliability, collegiality, and a positive attitude
