Housekeeper

Position Summary: Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Hospital. Contributes to team integration and patient focused care by providing housekeeping/cleaning services to all patient care areas, treatment areas and diagnostic areas. Includes high dusting, basic room cleaning, trash removal, general floor care and assisting nursing staff as needed. Contributes to the efficient operation of the assigned nursing unit and Housekeeping department by ensuring supplies, equipment and linen are available for use on the unit.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Supports the Mission and Vision of McLaren Port Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, as evidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback.
  2. Works in conjunction with patient focused care performing patient discharge cleaning, daily patient room cleaning and support area cleaning functions following infection control and normal cleaning procedures as a member of the unit-specific “integration” team.
  3. Contributes to the efficient operation of the assigned nursing unit as well as to the housekeeping department by ensuring supplies, equipment and linen are available for use on the unit.
  4. Works in conjunction with patient focused care performing project and floor care related tasks following infection control and normal cleaning procedures as a member of the unit-specific “integration” team.
  5. Works in conjunction with patient focused care performing trash and bio-bin pickup/replacement.

Qualifications:

Required

  • High school graduate or equivalent
