Job Description

Follow policies, procedures, and medical/lab protocol for nursing care and notify doctor of results accurately and in a timely manner.

* Report pertinent information and/or changes in the patient's condition to physician, and/or DON as appropriate and in a timely manner.

* Provide patient, staff, and family education as related to medication, illness, etc.

* Ensure nursing participation in team conferences, staffings, and reviews as assigned.

* Ensure medications are prepared and administered as ordered by the physician accurately and in a timely manner.

* Ensure medication administration is charted on the Medication Administration Record and nurse's notes, if applicable, accurately and in a timely manner.

* Ensure provided nursing care and appropriate records related to patients' progress and activities are documented accurately and in a timely manner (i.e., Incident/Accident reports, medical charts, worker's compensation reports, written training programs, daily/midnight census, diet updates, etc.)

* Ensure physician's orders are transcribed accurately and in a timely manner.

* Provide follow-up with monthly Pharmacy Report.

* Provide follow-up with monthly clinical records review.

* Implement infection control measures according to facility policy and procedures, accurately and in a timely manner.

* Provide support services to Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy consultant and offer feedback.

* Provide care and/or conduct patient/resident interactions in a manner appropriate for the age, culture, and population being served.

* Respond and complete one-hour assessment on the restraint seclusion packet.

* Follow all safety policies and adhere to all workers' compensation program guidelines.

* Other duties as assigned within the scope of job-related responsibilities.
