job summary:

A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Pontiac, IL area. The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards.

salary: $29.96 - 43.36 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

education: Bachelors


  • Facilitate and perform PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, Gauge R&R, Capability Studies.
  • Develop control plans for critical manufacturing, cleanliness, assembly, and test processes.

Typical Day:

  • Key team member on high profile fuel injector new product introduction program.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Planning teams as well as with critical component and process suppliers.
  • Lead and conduct standard APQP elements.

Education Requirement: Engineering or Manufacturing/Technology degree, or equivalent experience and OJT.

Technical Skills Required: Deep knowledge of Quality disciplines for high precision manufactured products.

Soft Skills Required: Teamwork, organization, communication.
