Primary Purpose

Provide architectural CAD drafting services, along with a variety of skilled duties that support and assist the Engineering, Planning and Environment (EPE), facilities, and operations teams. Preparing, maintaining and updating current as-built drawings, specifications & archived records. With updates to ARCHIBUS database, the GIS base map & Utility GIS base map. Assist with project management and architectural/engineering design services to the university on smaller in house and delegated projects, and larger projects managed by the Division of Public Works. Manage workloads with up to two student interns.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

* Experience performing basic sampling, monitoring or research activities; compiling and collecting data and preparing reports.

* Good knowledge of scientific methods

Preferred Qualifications

* Four (4) years experience in architectural drafting. Good knowledge of basic drafting principles and techniques used in building trades.

* Experience with; record keeping; mathematical, algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric computations to draw angles, determine scale, detail of drawings, quantities of materials, cost, distance and other data related to drawing; interpreting standard engineering and architectural plans and specifications.

* Experience communicating orally with individuals regarding drafting building plans.

* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Familiarity with ARCHIBUS or other space management software systems, and familiarity with ARCHGIS.

* Ability to compile, analyze, and create computer models of data.

* Skills in organization and record-keeping procedures.

* Experience in building construction inspection and construction cost estimating.

* Knowledge of construction contracts and contract law.

* Drafting certification program completion and certificates.
