Graduate Assistant - Baseball

Responsible for specifically designated aspects of the basketball program, exercises independent judgment in providing technical expertise in the fundamentals of basetball, teaching student-athletes basic and advanced skills, and assisting the Head Athletic Coach in management of the team through recruiting, program development, fund-raising, promotional activities, and related assigned responsibilities.

A successful candidate will be a positive role model to our student-athletes on and off the field, exhibit strong leadership, and strive to develop those leadership capabilities within our student-athletes.

Responsibilities also include:

* Monitoring and assisting student-athletes with academic success

* Effectively recruiting quality student-athletes

* Assisting the head coach with any/all aspects of the program.

* Bachelor's Degree and acceptance into the Lakeland University graduate school program are required.

* Experience and/or coaching basetball are required.

* Must have an acceptable driving record.


* Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions is required

* Demonstrate ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality;

* Ability to effectively manage time and priorities;

* Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity;

* Demonstrated ability to tactfully and effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals;

* Strong critical thinking skills;

* Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products;

* Demonstrates organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy;

* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment ;

* Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.


* Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

* Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
