Dining Services Supervisor

The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for providing effective food & beverage services; selecting, training and supervising the Assisted Living dining room food & beverage personnel; assisting with budget preparation and operating within budgetary guidelines.


* Organizes, directs and supervises all front-of-house food & beverage activities in Assistant Living.

* Oversees the selection, training, evaluating and disciplining of all front-of-house food & beverage personnel.

* Plans and assists in preparation of dinners, parties, marketing events, and other special events.

* Coordinates with residents to organize birthday parties, celebrations of life, floor parties, and other resident sponsored events.

* Assures efficiency of food serving; compliance with local, state, and federal standards; sanitation, and hygiene and health standards of personnel.

* Reconciles resident meal credits to assure accuracy of monthly resident billing.

* Participates in the research, preparation and writing of department budget.

* Monitors the care and the safe and sanitary use of supplies and equipment and all infection control policies and procedures.

* Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


* Minimum of three years experience in the administration of a large food services system, such as a resort, hotel, or club; fine dining experience preferred.

* A high school graduate/GED. Courses in hospitality management or dining room operations from college or trade school preferred.

* Previous working experience in a long term care facility preferred.

* Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
