Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Agile coach to join a team of coaches based in the Workday Pleasanton office to work within the framework and in partnership with our high performance program, WoDA (Workday Does Agile)

Workday has an incredible culture and a massive desire for continuous improvement. In Application Engineering teams are value delivery focused, work in both Scrum and Kanban, and willing to experiment to stay high performant. Workday utilizes the "power of one" with a continuous delivery pipeline to keep our customers happy.

WoDA is an internal program which follows a learning loop (reflect-learn-grow) to reflect with teams on their needs, baseline understanding through a series of holistic workshops and grow the teams in the building of sustainable habits and continuous improvement through coaching. Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting Workday teams in delivering high quality products which satisfy customers

* Exemplifying Agile Values, Principles and Workday Core Values

* Assessing the Agile maturity of the teams

* Facilitating and teaching WoDA workshops and Lean/Agile practices

* Coaching the teams and leadership to higher levels of delivery agility

* Fostering a trusting, collaborative and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of problem solving and systemic improvement.

* Enabling feedback loops and use of empirical data at all levels

* Fostering and facilitating community and peer learning through communities of practice

* Serve as a Scrum Master - part-time

* Leading by example through servant leadership

* Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Required Skills/Experience

* Proven Scrum mastership

* Proven track record in championing adoption of Agile, in particular Scrum and Kanban

* Lean and/or DevOps methodologies

* Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, influencing and increasing transparency

* Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing

* Experience with Continuous Delivery and supporting practices

* Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the teams (full stack development)

* Participation/involvement in Agile/Lean community
