This Accounts Payable / Payroll Specialist position is responsible for the processing of accounts payable transactions and the proper recording of the company’s expenses and inventory transactions. This position is also responsible for consistent application of internal controls related to payment of invoices, travel and entertainment reimbursement, and check requests.

In addition the AP/Payroll Specialist assists in the implementation of the UltiPro payroll system at start-up and established hospitals; processes payroll for assigned hospitals; maintains payroll information in the automated payroll system and generates reports as needed. Experience using UKG a plus.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assures correct general ledger account distribution for purchases
  • Reviews employee expense reimbursement requests for propriety and proper account distribution
  • Performs data entry of the approved invoices, check requests and employee expense reimbursement
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of payroll information in a confidential manner
  • Ability to understand level of importance of any payroll or accounts payable issue
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Processes checks on a periodic basis
  • Mails or distributes checks with proper enclosures
  • Performs research projects as requested
  • Prepares 1099’s for appropriate vendors
  • Provide support and/or assistance to facilities as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent), some college preferred
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in accounts payable and payroll
  • Experience using UKG (Ultipro) is a plus
