Compensation (Hourly Range)*:$40-50/hr.

Job Responsibilities

Your specific duties as a Project Controls Specialist will include

* This position is responsible for initiating and completing routine aspects of project control assignments.

* This position performs complex aspects of estimating, scheduling, change documentation and cost control.

* Using prescribed methods and tools, the position is responsible for performing primary aspects of project control assignments.

* Workers at this level are responsible for performing complex aspects of individual project estimating, scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level with minimal supervision.

* Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues.

* They are fully competent in use of project controls principles and procedures.

* They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. .

* This position typically is assigned to projects classified as "Green III" or 'Brown' per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix, or may manage multiple smaller (i.e. "Green II") projects. The position is considered a technical, SME, support position and requires college level reasoning via formal education or work experience.

* This job requires working knowledge to proficient use, understanding, and application of project controls principles and associated project controls software tools.

* Generates periodic Project Controls reports

* Responsible for gathering, verifying, validating and analyzing data

* Distributes and archives project documents

* Manages change control

* Develops and maintains work breakdown structures, project schedules, cost estimates, tracks and trends cash flow.

* Tracks and reports project status, analyzes variances, determines earned value, and analyzes critical path activities at a level appropriate for the project •

* Work with estimator(s) to create (or creates) project cost estimate in order to establish effective cost controls management.

* Assure that project estimate includes all necessary raw materials, resource / labor rates, manufactured materials / equipment as well as current industry data relative to project scope manage the estimate according to PMCoE Estimating Standard and review cycle.

* Maintains effective relationships with customers and supports the resolution of quality issues

* Proficient in conflict resolution and reaches positive outcomes among team members.

* Overtime may be required on assignments in order to meet deliverables

Project Controls Specialist

Job Requirements

As a Project Controls Specialist you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

* Graduation from a four-year college or university - business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent.

* Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience.

* Minimum of 9 years of project controls experience in lieu of a degree.

* Proficient in project controls principles.

* Proficiency / Expertise with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications / analytics; strong collaborative team member.

* Experience with Primavera6

* Masters - business, finance, project management, or equivalent.

* PMI or AACE certification (the following or equivalent are acceptable - PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP).

* Software such as MS Project/MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Powerplant, Emax, PeopleSoft. Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis.

* The Senior Project Controls Specialist may have relationships with individuals of varying levels in various organizations.

* Project teams of external Suppliers/Vendors
