The County of El Dorado is seeking high school students, students of a vocational program, or recent graduates; and current students of a junior college, state college, or university for both unpaid and paid internships. This is a great opportunity to realize the promise of public service, develop or enhance a strong work ethic, learn about the County, and gain valuable work experience.

There are three classifications of unpaid and paid interns for which we are currently recruiting. These classifications are Extra Help and considered an at-will appointment. Please use the links below to see which classification is best for you. The salary listed is for paid positions:

Student Intern

Student Intern - Undergraduate

Student Intern - Graduate/Law

* We are currently recruiting for paid intern positions in the following departments: Transportation, Sheriff, Board of Supervisors, Chief Administrative Office, Planning and Building, Air Quality Management District, Public Defender, Recorder- Clerk, Elections, Veterans Affairs

* We are currently recruiting for unpaid intern positions in these departments: Environmental Management, County Counsel, Sheriff, Board of Supervisors, Chief Administrative Office, Planning and Building, Air Quality Management District, Public Defender, Recorder- Clerk, Elections, Veterans Affairs

Examples of Essential Functions

The duties and functions performed by these three different intern classifications will vary depending on the department assigned to and the nature of the assignment. These duties will be clearly defined in the duty statement for the specific internship assignment.
