Position Description

In this position the successful candidate will work as part of the PPG Aerospace global IT team and will be located at PPG's corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PPG Aerospace is an industry leader providing transparencies, sealants, coatings, and specialized chemical management solutions to aviation customers. The Systems Analyst will play an important role within a growing team responsible for delivering software applications to the Total Solution Services business. This business segment provides specialized chemical management services to the Aerospace industry. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive suite of software applications serving the Aerospace industry. This position requires the demonstrated ability to develop and support robust software applications. The candidate must possess strong analytical abilities, good interpersonal and communication skills, and should thrive working in both a team environment and independently.

A strong application development background, having direct, recent experience with VB.NET, C#.NET and SQL Server is required. 3 – 5 years of recent application development experience with VB.NET and C#.NET is required along with the interest to develop and implement customer facing applications. The candidate should have experience translating requirements into an appropriate software design, the ability to formulate and define application scope and objectives, and implement complete solutions under the guidance of a project lead. This position is targeted toward the .NET application developer with strong technical knowledge, good interpersonal skills, and desire for professional growth.

Required Qualifications

* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.

* Experience in the following technologies:

* .NET, VB.NET, C#.NET (3 – 5 years of experience)

* JavaScript


* SQL Server

* Dynamic Data/MVC


* Microsoft Reporting Services


* An understanding of basic concepts, terminology and practical application of current and emerging technologies.

* Experience in or a basic understanding of web design required, including ability to implement responsive designs for use on mobile devices.

* Strong analytical abilities and technical skills to evaluate alternative approaches and to recommend the most feasible and economical solutions.

* Strong understanding of architectures, analytical and design techniques, database technologies, and programming languages.

* Analytical abilities and technical skills to isolate problems, fix immediate needs, analyze all ramifications and implement complete solutions.

* Experience with change management tools and processes, including source code control, versioning, branching, defect tracking and release management.

* Good verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts to audience in appropriate terms.

* Ability to effectively participate in both collaborative environments and on an individual basis without close supervision.

* Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently. #LI-JB1
