Site Environmental Manager (2-900)

Basic Function: As part of the plant management team provide leadership in implementing and maintaining regulatory and Lear requirements of environmental and sustainability programs and maintain an environmentally complaint facility.

Specific Duties:

* Responsibility for overall environmental program at 2 plants, analyze trends to provide guidance and technical advice and lead in implementing solutions in the area of environmental and sustainability to ensure employees are provided a safe working environment and ensure environmental requirements are in place to protect the environment and keep facility in compliance with all applicable requirements

* Play an active role in management, implementation, and overall culture of employee engagement, Lear leadership model, continuous improvement, and adherence to safe, efficient, regulatory compliant, and consistent environmental practices and conditions. Maintain environmental permits up-to-date, maintain data, prepare and submit various environmental reports to the appropriate agencies including air emission reports, water report, wastewater discharge reports, SARA Tier II and Form R

* Conduct audits and maintain and complete inspections and updates for all environmental programs including: SPCC, storm water, air emissions, hazardous waste, WWTP, emergency response, and others as required.

* Establish and implement ISO 14001:2015 standard EMS and work with the team and Corporate EHS to obtain and maintain ISO 14001:2015 certification at 2 plants

* Conduct Risk Assessments for risk control, directives, equipment, industrial hygiene, PPE, chemicals, emergency drill, and regulatory compliance

* Collect, maintain and provide information to Corporate EHS on environmental and sustainability programs

* Lead implementation of sustainability projects at the plant to reduce energy consumption, reduce GHG emissions, reduce waste generation, and increase recycling. Maintain and monitor energy, waste and water data and other metrics at required frequency

* Establish systems for environmental incident prevention and ensure thorough incident investigations are conducted for all environmental incidents, including but not limited to spills, operational upsets, waste management, other emergencies, and inspections by outside agencies

* Establish systems for environmental incident prevention and recommend appropriate programs and processes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

* Assess education and training needs, evaluate environmental programs/processes and develop environmental training as necessary, and provide employee training on environmental and sustainability programs and requirements applicable to the facility

Key Requirements:

* B.S. degree (environmental, chemical, mechanical, or civil engineering);

* Minimum 5 years of experience in the environmental field within manufacturing or consulting area with emphasis on textile and automotive processes and compliance with regulatory requirements

* Understanding of Federal and State environmental laws and regulations.

* Working experience and strong knowledge of regulatory environmental requirements including but not limiting to air permits and compliance, wastewater discharge permit and compliance, wastewater treatment processes and management, groundwater withdrawal, waste management, sludge management, SPCC, storm water, emergency response/Hazwoper, SARA, ASTs and Boilers operation and compliance, soil and groundwater remediation

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

* Strategic and tactical thinker with strong presentation skills and ability to influence others

* Proactive leader with ability to work independently and meet deadlines

* Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, CADD

* Excellent human relations skills; observation and interaction skills
