Responsibilities

The Ivy Brain Tumor Center is currently recruiting a highly-motivated Postdoctoral Fellow, preferably a recent graduate (Ph.D., M.D.) to join our translational neurosciences team and focus on cutting-edge pharmacodynamic- and pharmacokinetic-driven clinical trials at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Only candidates with a strong background in Cancer Molecular Biology and/or Pharmacology will be considered. Detailed knowledge of CNS signal transduction pathways as they relate to CNS tumors, as well as experience conducting pre-clinical and/or clinical drug treament studies for neurological disease are preferred.

Job Description and Expectations:- Candidate is expected to critically think, design, perform clinical studies, experiments and interpret data independently (this is a MUST).- Applicants should have strong communication skills in a team based environment.- Able to assist in writing grants and manuscripts, and present at scientific conferences.- We are looking for a candidate who enjoys science, is persistent, someone who loves to be part of a team and deeply cares about their job.

Qualifications

Laboratory or clinical research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study required. Beyond minimum required, experience writing research reports concerning own work and familiarity with a biomedical discipline preferred. Laboratory or clinical technical and/or interpersonal skills as appropriate required. Technical and/or conceptual expertise in a relevant field preferred. Familiar with basic computer, mathematical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate required. Ph.D., post-baccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor required
