Payroll Specialist

* Duties and Responsibilities:

* Visual and manual dexterity for computer work, and analyzing summary plan descriptions and data reports.

* Compile payroll data such as time worked, salaries, garnishments, PTO time, benefits and 401K deductions.

* Record changes, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, loan payments and any other deduction for each employee

* Calculate and prepare manual checks, process moving expenses, performance awards, and severance checks.

* Research and respond to inquiries from management, employees and third parties

* Prepare, balance and distribute payroll funding request.

* Verify accuracy of time entry

* Reconcile payroll related activities

* Develop and maintain spreadsheets

* Establish and maintain company and employee payroll records, including earnings and deductions and tax withholding setup and maintenance.

* Perform certified payroll, union billing, payroll tax payment, etc...

Knowledge and Skills Required:

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

* Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills

* Ability to prioritize and multi-task

* Ability to work under high stress and deadlines

Required Experience and Education:

* Associate's degree preferred in accounting or similar study

* Minimum 1 year of payroll processing experience

* Certified payroll and union payroll knowledge plus

Work Environment:

This is a safety sensitive position. Routine work site presence through all phases of construction, exposed to hazards requiring personal protective equipment. Flexible to work outside normal business hours and provide emergency response as needed.
