JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Grants Management Section is seeking a Grants Coordinator.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

* Monitor eligibility and compliance components of Maintenance of Effort (MOE) for local education agencies (LEAs)

* Review reimbursement requests for approval

* Review Completion Reports and Completion Report Revisions for approval and collection of interest and refunds

* Maintain fiscal holds (i.e. high risk, programmatic, global)

* Provide technical assistance to LEAs who are not meeting eligibility or compliance

* Provide general fiscal support to LEAs

* In-state travel is required for this position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

* Administration related to planning, organizing, and directing fiscal matters and budgets (preparing and controlling)

* General business services

* Procurement policies and procedures

* Contract policies and procedures

* Accounting

* Audit policy and procedures

* Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, statistics, accounting, or related field; or equivalent job-related experience

SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Written and verbal communication

* Problem solving and critical analysis

* Build relationships with employees and the public

* Analytical

* Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook

ABILITIES REQUIRED:

* Absorb difficult and obscure concepts and conceptualize new systems

* Operate successfully in a strong team environment

* Perform to stated deadlines and to produce expected results with little supervision

* Express ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

* Position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).
