Web Application Developer

We need someone who loves a challenge and enjoys bringing concepts to digital life. Working primarily in .Net and Drupal, you will be supporting the mission of higher education by developing, troubleshooting, and supporting projects that will be used by a wide range of people throughout the University community. You will write web applications and web services in our rewarding and relaxed environment. You will have the opportunity to integrate applications with Oracle and SQL Server databases to build dynamic, enterprise-ready experiences for the end user. You will integrate APIs into client-facing applications to bring Temple's web to life. Your work will extend Temple's mission to the community and world, to bring higher education to all. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 2 years related technical experience. Demonstrated experience with the latest version of Drupal, or other open source CMS, along with proven ability to develop custom modules/plugins that extend the CMS' core or contributed functionality. Experience working with databases such as with Oracle or Microsoft SQL. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of management and staff.

* Familiarity with SOAP and/or RESTful web services

* Ability to interact with outside agencies and vendors on an as-needed basis.

* Strong programming and analytical skills.

* Proficient knowledge in core web technologies including HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery.

* Ability to work independently or as part of a project team.


* Experience in C# or Java

* Demonstrated ability to collect and document user requirements.

* Experience with MySQL.

* Project management experience.

* Proficiency with versioning control and code management software.

* Proficiency in responsive design and developing for mobile platforms

* Familiarity with practices needed in building accessible web sites

* Understanding of basic Windows and Linux server maintenance operations.
