The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) in collaboration with the Clinical Investigators will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of Clinical Trials in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery. Under the supervision of the Research Administrator of the Department of Surgery, the Research Nurse will conduct Clinical Trials in adherence with FDA, IRB, Pennsylvania, and related regulations.
Responsibilities include: coordinating study enrollment, establishing or maintaining databases of subjects, protocol treatment and follow-up care for subjects participating in clinical trials; collaborating with primary nursing staff to provide nursing care to patients receiving therapy on a clinical research trial; assisting the principal investigator in the process of assuring adequate informed consent; assuring that the Clinical Trial study Protocol is followed by all study staff; collaborating with the nursing staff; assessing subjects on study for complications related to therapy/treatment. In addition, the CRN will communicate observations/findings to attending physicians, investigators and in medical records as required; communicating routinely with sponsoring organizations and conduct monitoring visits in collaboration with sponsoring trial organizations; maintaining study protocols, updates, amendments and communicate these to, and as required by, the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Professional licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of PA and at least one year of research experience.

*Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems.
*Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
*Working knowledge of various computer applications including MS Office.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills.
*May be required to work on weekends and outside day shift hours.
