Responsibilities

The Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) is a scientific resource for PLS Marketing commissioned to generate, manage and conduct high level scientific, medical, and strategic interactions with external and internal stakeholders. The objective is to ensure that PLS generates and deploys scientific and analytic marketing content from the work product being generated via the Allscripts EHR platforms. External stakeholders include, not limited to, Life Sciences firms (biopharmaceutical & medical device manufacturers and clinical research organizations) and Payers. Internal stakeholders include all PLS and Allscripts analysts, epidemiologists, and others who generate scientific and analytic work product including data analytics, insights, and program summaries/outcomes. The CSL will coordinate the creation of work product being generated by PLS constituents and create a clinical/analytic strategic plan along with a GOTOMARKET tactical plan to create a market demand for PLS assets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Cultivate medical and science-based relationships with external stakeholder decision-makers and educate them regarding Allscripts' EHR data / Payer Life Sciences™ offerings

* Identify data needs of external stakeholders while strategizing with internal stakeholders to develop publication plans relevant to external-stakeholder requirements, two examples include Real World Evidence (RWE) and innovative approaches to fielding clinical trials

* Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to support the PLS portfolio

* Create and disseminate PLS work product via segment driven media (blogs, slide decks, publications, posters, videos) highlighting PLS value to generate prospect/customer inquiries

* Facilitate PLS podium opportunities and have a PLS presence (non-booth) @ medical/scientific conferences

* Routinely obtain, assimilate, organize, and report competitive and scientific intelligence regarding EHR data analytics to internal stakeholders

* Collaboratively work with sales to provide clinical support and contribute to speaker training of internal or external experts as required

Qualifications

Academic and professional qualifications:

* Advanced degree required in life sciences (PhD preferred)

* Minimum of 5 – 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience including support of healthcare market needs (R&D, Scientific Affairs, product commercialization)

* Experienced at liaison roles within the pharmaceutical industry demonstrated by a minimum of 5 years successfully managing internal and external stakeholder expectations

Required Skills:

* Evidence of problem solving and leadership skills within matrix-based organizations and between internal and external stakeholders

* Reasonable understanding of challenges to regional or national healthcare decision-making about medical practice, clinical R&D, health plan pricing and benefits, and design and execution of clinical trials

* Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and self-motivate to manage activities that achieve business goals with quality work product and compliant behavior

* Evidence of substantial and diverse network of contacts within Life Science firms and Healthcare Plans.

* Work effectively in a decentralized, cross-functional environment

Travel requirements:

* Ability to travel up to 30% in compliance with Allscripts policies and procedures

Working arrangements:

* Monday through Friday or as defined by assignment requirements

* Largely field-based performance of duties in compliance with administrative tasks as remote professional staff
