Essential Job Duties

* Acts on a consistent basis to support the Mission, Vision and Values of MLHC.

* Responsible for the development and ongoing operations of the Specialty and/or (PCP) Practices. Design and implement operational plans that optimize quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, efficiency and financial performance.

* Responsibilities include intensive program planning and development in the PCP and/or Specialty outpatient arena, physician relations and market growth. Development and implementation of quality and service standards for the PCP and/or Specialty practices are required to create a consistent and superior experience for all users.

* Provide leadership in day to day operations with Practice Managers/Office Managers, physician leadership and hospital/MLHC leadership that focuses on patient safety, patient satisfaction, personnel management and development, performance improvement and financial stewardship.

* Responsible for development and preparation of the operating and capital budgets for PCP and/or Specialty practices. Monitors financial performance on a monthly basis and works toward achieving budget targets. Develop dashboard reports that can be shared with senior leadership.

* Work collaboratively with members of MLHC Senior Team and appropriate MLH Hospital Leadership on the development of strategic initiatives as it relates to the continuum of care across all PCP and/or Specialty practices with particular focus on practice initiatives.

* In conjunction with members of MLHC Senior Team and the appropriate MLH Hospital Leaders, play a lead role in the relocation of PCP and/or Specialty practices to designated MLH locations . Lead/participate in team discussions regarding transformation of patient care experience. Project management responsibilities as it relates to the construction and relocation of PCP and/or Specialty practices.

* Work collaboratively with hospital departments providing care/services to MLHC patients to improve clinical processes and access thus enhancing the total patient experience throughout the system.

* Works with Practice Managers/Office Managers to develop practice specific policies and procedures, operation plans to grow volumes, workflow efficiencies and a superior patient experience.

* Play an active role in conjunction with the Legal Department, members of MLHC Senior Team and Physician Contract Analyst, in the preparation of physician employment agreements. Responsible for review, comment and analysis of agreements and provides relevant and appropriate recommendations.

* Participates in physician/provider recruitment initiatives. Participates in the strategic planning process as it relates to provider needs within PCP and/or Specialty practices.

* Serves as member of MLHC Senior Management team, participates and contributes to discussions and decisions.

* Creates, monitors and implements, as appropriate, action plans from results of patient satisfaction surveys, employee opinion surveys, coding and compliance audits, risk and safety audits, etc. Works closely with physician(s) and Practice Managers/Office Managers on this process of developing correction actions and/or practice development in these areas.

* Oversees marketing and community relations plans and objectives. Maintains sensitivity to the needs of the individual practices and identifies new business and revenue opportunities whenever possible.

* Attends to the administrative details of the position including the signing of documents, preparation of reports, completion of performance appraisals and other employee-related actions.

* Resolves internal and external conflicts and investigates complex problems or issues posing significant financial or legal impact, e.g., malpractice, ethical issues, or patient/staff/physician/provider complaints.

* Participates in professional development activities and stays current with trends and practices in health care administration.

* Maintains strictest confidentiality.

* Performs related work as required.

Requirements

* Education: B.A/B.S. in healthcare, business or related field required. MBA/MHA strongly preferred.

* Licensures & Certifications: n/a

* Experience: Proven track record in physician practice management through a minimum of 10 years of management experience. Expectation is that at least 5 years of practice management experience. Clinical program development and new business and marketing experience required. Excellent physician relations. Excellent communication skills. Innovative and self-motivated.
