Assistant Director, Donor Relations

Reporting to the Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations, the AssistantDirector contributes toInstitutional Advancement (IA) goals by facilitating acknowledgments, drafting communicationsand providing project management to strengthen donor confidence, enhance thedonor experience, and increase donor satisfaction and retention. Within Temple'shybrid centralized/decentralized advancement organization, the Assistant Directorworks closely with the Director and collaborates with a broad range ofadvancement colleagues to manage, execute and assist with donor relations,recognition and stewardship projects which help inspire a culture ofphilanthropy at Temple. Performs other duties as assigned.

RequiredEducation & Experience:

Bachelor'sdegree and three or more years of experience working in donor relations/stewardship,preferably in a higher education setting. Equivalent experience in advancementservices or frontline development may be considered.

RequiredSkills & Abilities:

* Excellent communication skills.

* Proven organizationalskills to manage multi-phase projects from inception to completion, includingthe ability to balance multiple concurrent priorities.

* Demonstratedproficiency in Banner or equivalent development database. Advanced competenciesin data management tools including Excel and mail merges. Must be willing to undergo training in internal systemsand practice.

* Effectiveinterpersonal skills including the ability to work with sensitive andconfidential information in a discreet and professional manner.

* Attentionto detail and high level of accuracy in work.

* Thoroughunderstanding of donor relations and stewardship principles; working knowledgeof corresponding fundraising and advancement services functions preferred.
