The Laboratory Director is responsible for developing and maintaining an integrated and comprehensive laboratory service and Outreach program. Plans, evaluates, and determines goals for the laboratory. Develops, implements, and monitors laboratory policies and standards for quality and productivity to ensure high quality services in accordance with OSF HealthCare and accrediting and regulatory agencies, initiating corrective action as necessary. Responsible for financial oversight of the laboratory to include revenue, expenses, and capital acquisitions. Ensure adequate staffing for excellent patient care and employee well-being.
Bachelor's degree in a science field such as Clinical Laboratory Science, Cytology, Biology, or Chemistry
5 years of experience in a clinical lab setting.
3 years leadership experience in Laboratory Services or a clinical/healthcare setting
American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification (ASCP)
American Medical Technologists Certification (AMT)
Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively and communicate with patients and other health care professionals.
High level of professionalism and skillful performance in stressful situations.
Analytical skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others.
Change management skills in order to adapt and lead in a frequently changing environment.

Ability to develop and sustain strong staff and interdepartmental relationships.
Possess a moderate level of expertise with Computer/Micro Soft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Laboratory Science or other related business degree.
5 years of Manager level experience in Laboratory services.
Advanced level of expertise with Computer/Micro Soft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
