The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking an Engineer in our CITY, STATE office.

Job Summary

Assists assigned department by performing basic engineering-related tasks including research, development, design and delivery on assigned project(s).

Essential Responsibility

* Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects.

* Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities- Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs - Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications - Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings - Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments - Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects - Responsible for field supervision and logging of drilling, testing and data collections activities - Provide geotechnical analysis and design of deep foundations, earth retaining systems, ground improvement procedures, embankments and cut slopes, and levees - Prepare geotechnical engineering analyses and reports - Develop and review specifications and plan notes related to geotechnical design elements - Develop CADD boring plans, ground improvement and special foundation plan sheets - Perform construction observation of earthwork, foundation installation, and wall construction - Physically able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in EngineeringPreferred Qualification/Skills- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering. - Knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures. - Understanding and working knowledge of geotechnical aspects of LRFD foundation and wall design methods. - Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation. - Experience with geotechnical software (e.g. gINT, SHAFT, LPile, APile, Group, GRLWEAP, SlopeW, SeepW, MSEW, and/or Slide).General Work Conditions Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
