Job Summary

The Senior Vice President and General Manager of H&C Animal Health provides strategic direction to all sales and marketing activities. This position will continue to create brand identity and awareness to meet revenue and profit goals for a fast growing division of CLA. H&C Animal Health is on track to more than triple its revenue in 5 years. This position will be a key leader in the success of the goal, while continuing to better the lives of animals by brining effective and clinically proven products from veterinary to retail and eCommerce outlets.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

* Develop and execute brand vision, development, and marketing strategy, and retail and direct selling approach through a thorough knowledge, understanding, and passion for the consumer.

* Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, sales plans, and forecasts to achieve objectives for the brand(s), products and services.

* Support the design, development, and implementation of current products, new product development, and service lines.

* Coordinate marketing communications and achieve marketing plan objectives.

* Oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.

* Develop and recommend product development, product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

* Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions while monitoring competitor products, sales and marketing activities.

* In conjunction with the CLA sales force, develop a strategy and approach to trade shows and retails calls/sales presentations, and attend all shows and most large retailer presentations.

* Identify, qualify, and work with and direct third party manufacturers in regards to product design, quality, timing and production.

* Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners while negotiating and closing deals; as well as building out a sales team to continue to do so.

* Develop periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

* Direct product research and development.

* Full P&L responsibility to ensure profitability and expense management is maintained.

Minimum Requirements

* 10+ years of industry experience with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments.

* Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business, product, and market development; market research and planning; and promotions/advertising.

* Must have strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.

* Demonstrates the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.

* Ability to travel.

* Desire and passion to build superior brands and businesses that are differentiated in the market place and that consumers love.

Preferred Job Requirements

* Experience working with third party manufacturers.

* Ability to be an entrepreneur, and think and act like a business owner.

* Ability to develop and grow a small brand into a significant one.

* Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or other related field.

* Pet, Animal Health and Equine business focused industry knowledge a strong plus.


* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant work experience


* Must live in the Denver region or be willing to relocate (relocation package negotiable but not typical)
