Oversee tax professionals who prepare and record monthly GAAP & IFRS soft and hard close tax provisions

Research, analyze and document company tax accounting policies related to new standards or guidance and any tax law changes. This includes evaluating the impact of these changes to Regulatory accounting and revenue requirements. Continuously evaluate existing tax accounting policies and update/enhance documentation of existing policies, as needed.

Work with external audit firm closely in the preparation of the audited statutory financial statements and footnotes.

Oversee financial planning & analysis and management reporting for taxes

Support and help advise in the preparation of Company responses regarding inquiries and requests including IFRS reporting requirements from Paris HQ.

Partner with Tax Director to interpret and evaluate appropriate accounting and tax return treatment of proposed transactions

Lead, manage and develop tax staff, including contractors where appropriate, with effective delegation, review and oversight to ensure business and compliance deadlines are achieved.

Manage info requests related to commission reports and rate cases

Required Skills

BS in Accounting, finance, or related field

CPA, MBA or Masters in Tax with accounting experience (or equivalent) preferred

Experience with process improvement, change management and optimization of various tax processes

Ability to meet deliverables independently and as a team player within time constraints

Exhibit flexibility, creativity and initiative in providing solutions

Required Experience

At least 8+ years in tax accounting, tax compliance and/or tax reporting

Public accounting and auditing experience preferred

Strong technical background in GAAP Accounting for Income Taxes, including some exposure to international operations

Understanding of complex corporate issues and impact on accounting and tax

Demonstrated ability to solve complex tax issues

Proven ability to mentor, coach and develop tax professionals

Proven ability to communicate across all levels within the organization (both verbal and written)

Strong analytical skills, detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
