Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Our Visual Search team creates solutions aimed at helping customers search and discover the world around them via a camera-phone view. We use advanced technologies to leverage our vast catalog of images in ways that dramatically improve the experience of Amazon customers. We tackle complex problems in computer vision, deep learning, image recognition, machine learning, and large-scale distributed systems.

We are looking for a person who can take our current visualization and annotation tools infrastructure to the next level. We are creating the largest collection of annotated image data within Amazon (we're talking 100s of millions). This collection will help us evaluate and tune the results of our Vision algorithms to ensure spectacular results. In this role you will be a senior member of the team, driving design decisions that impact multiple teams within A9 Visual Search. To be the right fit, you will have worked on all n-tiers of a responsive web app, with large amounts of data. You are into doing front-end widgets well, and can also build a scalable database repository, and define an API that is used by a comprehensive suite of tools across the company – you are a solid full-stack engineer.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.

* At least 5 years of experience building UI-based tools using Spring MVC, Javascript, HTML/CSS.

* At least 3 years of experience using SQL

* Experience developing software on Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

* Expertise in creating tools scalable database schemas for tools that store billions of data items.

* Expertise in quickly creating innovative, intuitive UI tools on Linux.

* A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate, and optimize the tools suite to best meet evolving business needs.

* Masters degree in computer science or related field.

* At least 7 years of experience building UI tools.

* At least 5 years of SQL.
