Job Description

As a Localization Engineer you would be a part of the medical clinical and imaging Software development team. You would be responsible for the localized content of medical clinical and imaging software.

* Owns localization of software projects from English into multiple languages.

* Coordinates and prioritizes projects according to their priorities and dependencies.

* Assesses localizability of software and identifies localization obstacles

* Investigates and corrects localization issues.

* Interacts with project management, engineering teams and other stakeholders.

* Coaches and Mentors junior members of the team as & when required.

* Collaborative with teams in other offices.

* Educates stakeholders and software engineers about localization and localization issues.

* Passionate about creating world class Medical Software, that help patients and save lives.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

* Strong understanding of approaches relating to localization.

* BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

* Exceptional collaborative and relationship building skills to operate in a matrix structure (influence without authority).

* Strong background using Passolo or similar tool.

* Strong skills in testing of Desktop based products (preferably in Medical device domain).

* Strong Understanding how .NET C#, C++ applications are localized.

* Strong background and understanding of Pseudo Translations, Project Alignment, English. Review, and other techniques for improving localization quality.

* Ability to navigate in complex and changing workflows.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Understanding of ISO and Unicode character encoding models, including UTF-8, UTF-16, and code pages.

* Excellent time management, organization and inter-personal skills.

* Ability to work independently as well as participating in a team of professionals.

Previous Experience:

* 2 – 4 years' experience with localization/internationalization engineering.

* A background in the healthcare or medical devices industry is desirable.

* A background in a product-development company is preferred.

* Experience working in a multi-site environment would be an advantage.

* Exposure to Virtualization using VMware.

* Exposure to creating scripts or C# utilities.

* Knowledge of Microsoft TFS, or other source control software.

* Exposure to Agile methodologies.

Language Abilities:

* Proficiency in written and spoken English.

* Additional languages beneficial.
