FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING ANALYST – Debt Valuation / SEC Reporting

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports to: SEC Valuation & Reporting Manager

Position Summary

Responsibilities for the Financial Accounting Analyst will include: valuation functions over our debt investment portfolio including gathering, organizing and analyzing data for quarterly portfolio valuations and drafting supporting schedules for reports as part of the valuation and reporting team. In addition, the Financial Accounting Analyst will both prepare and facilitate collection of all financial data necessary to meet our SEC reporting requirements under the guidance of the SEC Valuation and Reporting Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

* Data collection and analysis to determine quarterly investment portfolio valuations

* Coordination with the investment team, credit team, and independent valuation specialists on collateral-based valuations

* Collection and calculation of supporting information for public disclosures

* Preparation and review of our Schedule of Investments including all terms disclosed

* Drafting of our SEC documents including but not limited to 10Qs, 10Ks, N2s, and documents supporting debt and / or equity raises

Qualifications

* BA or BS degree required

* Three to five years' experience in accounting or finance positions

* CPA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

* Exposure to accounting in a non-academic setting. Professional experience in a public accounting firm and/or investment/venture capital environment preferred, but not required

* General understanding of accounting principles as applicable to finance/investment companies and ASC 820

* Strong familiarity with public reporting requirements

* Experience performing reconciliations, identifying trends, and resolving issues within large data populations

* Professional or significant personal experience using Microsoft Excel to consolidate and analyze data
