JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Sales provides leadership for the daily sales operation by training and motivating the sales team members while ensuring the sales presentations are being conducted in an ethical and professional manner, according to company compliance and standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Leads and influences a successful and experienced sales management team.

* Manages the entire sales unit, including sales managers and vacation counselors by consistently adhering to the Company's performance management programs and conducting analysis to determine performance levels against corporate objectives.

* Establishes the performance goals for all sales management team members along with the relevant action plans aimed at supporting the achievement of such goals.

* Works with sales management team members in the establishment of performance goals for the sales team members along with the relevant action plans aimed at supporting the achievement of the performance goals with emphasis on exhaustive follow-up.

* Accountable for attracting, retaining, training, and motivating a diverse sales force on a constant basis.

* Responsible for the achievement of the established targets in regards to Volume per Guest (VPG), net sales volume, and closing percentage of the relevant sales site.

* Exceeds client expectations and experience, dealing with complaints immediately.

* Supervises a team of vacation counselors to carry out presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients in an ethical and professional manner.

* Develops sales action plans and schedules for each sales presentation; assists representatives in overcoming client objections.

* Adds creditability as a higher authority figure, negotiating with clients to close sales of products and services.

* Executes and manages every element of the sales process on an individual level and build a top-notch sales team.

* Attend all requires sales meetings and training.

* Complete all required company training/compliance courses as assigned.

* Adhere to company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

* A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the vacation ownership industry.

* A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in the sales industry.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position spends the majority of the time (50% or more) achieving Organization objectives, often through the coordinate achievements of subordinate Staff. A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks related similar to those performed by direct reports, but primary duties are supervisory or organizational-goal centric. This position analyzes and resolves problems, determines work techniques, monitors for regulatory compliance, maintains production, interprets and creates policies, and demonstrates expertise in Sales subject-matter.

The position establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with independence, and makes decisions on matters of significant importance. This position manages Team Members, financial, and/or physical resources; proactively assesses risk(s) and establishes systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. This position exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action; develops systems to ensure subordinates adhere to policies and procedures in compliance with organizational goals and objectives.

Specific supervisory duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Determines and creates policies, procedures, and manuals for direct reports.

* Establishes objectives and goals for the team; plans, organizes and manages work flow.

* Assigns, monitors, and reviews work; evaluates direct report's performance.

* Recruit, interview, train, discipline, and terminate direct reports.

* Orientate and train direct reports.

* Approves time records and time off requests; submits payroll for direct reports.

* Investigates and resolves concerns and complaints.

* Provide assistance and support; maintains a positive and professional working environment.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS

* Valid Real Estate License - as required by state law.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

This position requires the ability to understand and follow both oral and written instruction as well as have knowledge of and properly use Standard English and follow office practices.

Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:

* Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and unbiased manner at all times.

* Ability to clearly explain the product and sales contract.

* Thorough knowledge of the vacation ownership industry, trends, company products, and services.

* Strong working knowledge of Resort Condominiums International (RCI) and Interval International's (II) products and services.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven environment.

* Ability to operate general office machinery (i.e. computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).

* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

* Understand how to develop and implement business strategies.

* Excellent customer service skills.

* Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

* Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.

* Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external Customers.

* Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision.

* Ability to speak competently and confidently in a public setting.

* Performs well with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

* Intermediate math skills.
