Scope of Position

Strengthen the Product Quality Architecture within the organization by driving fundamental understanding and continual improvements that positively influence process capability and product attributes. Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and mitigate risks associated with process, product, and equipment changes. Provide statistical engineering support to process engineering, quality, and production operations. Use process understanding and data analysis to help troubleshoot glass quality issues.

Day to Day Responsibilities

* Facilitate efforts to understand processes capability and product quality architecture. Design new and improve existing quality architecture systems. Assist with the development of Lot Acceptance methods and other quality tools required for pilot production.

* Evaluate the impact of product, process and equipment changes on product attributes and quality architectures.

* Facilitate root cause analysis on products and processes not meeting specified requirements. Work with manufacturing and engineering on completing sustainable solutions which are compliant with our quality system and customer agreements.

* Drive early identification of vulnerabilities or quality issues, assign ownership, and ensure that corrective measures meet or exceed requirements.

* Use data to help solve problems and troubleshoot glass production issues.

* Develop, test, and validate empirical and fundamentally based statistical models using Design of Experiments (DOE) and other experimental techniques. Integrate experiment key learning into production and validate results. Document knowledge through R-Reports and technical presentations.

* Use Six Sigma DMAIC principles in executing objectives.

* Translate work/findings/directions into presentations to leadership and instructions for operations that can be understood and acted upon.

* Analyze inspection and measurement processes and conduct quality assurance and capability studies.

* Track and report on critical quality metrics. Alert appropriate functional areas of critical trends and quality issues.

* Work under strict deadlines with cross-functional teams including development, engineering, and manufacturing.

* As warranted, provide defect analysis support and experiment plan guidance for PRCN glass sample processing.
