SUMMARY

Duties include the disposition of parts returned from the field, perform failure analysis on returned parts; and reporting failure trends and test possible solutions to management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform failure analysis on returned parts.
  • Maintain database.
  • Report failure trends.
  • Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc. Additionally, there are high value items that require proper care and protection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to determine causes of failures, both electrical and mechanical.
  • Excellent hands on ability using precision measuring instruments.
  • File management skills.
  • Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) credential such as general education degree (GED) is required, plus an additional 1–3 months related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the ability read and interpret documents; such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. In addition must also sufficiently write routine reports and business correspondence. It is imperative to adequately speak effectively before groups, customers, and/or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
