Process Development Designer II

About the role:

* Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and experienced designer with expertise in new product development, tooling, and fixturing.

* The candidate must have a desire to utilize their skills to solve technical/complex problems in a hands-on manner, utilizing CAD software to develop robust product, fixturing and equipment designs.

* The successful candidate for this position will provide strong mechanical aptitude as well as problem solving skills and provide engineering support across a diversified platform to enable medical device innovation.

* The successful candidate for this position will provide strong leadership and problem solving to enable medical device innovation.

* Be a part of one of Boston Scientific's fastest growing divisions supporting process development for exciting new products, and business development activities.

* Use your technical and collaboration skills alongside your passion for innovation and continuous improvement to drive growth through efficient and effective commercialization of new products and targeted improvements.

Your responsibilities include:

* Work with Process Development, R&D, and Equipment engineering and vendors to develop robust product, fixturing, and equipment designs.

* Fully contributes to development & documentation of all design requirements of developed designs.

* Involved in all design (fit & tolerance analysis)/print reviews to lead changes to the drawings, processes and tolerances to maintain robust designs.

* Assist in creation & specification of test methods to measure developing design requirements.

* Selection of appropriate process technologies to allow components to be created as required.

* Create CAD Solid Models of all design concepts.

* Management of Engineering print package, including adherence to drafting standards, engineering design standard (EDS) and other department procedures.

* Assists in prototype construction and procurement (quotes & services).

What we're looking for:

Minimum Qualifications

* Associates degree in mechanical drafting or CAD technology

* Minimum of 1 year of Solidworks experience in the industry

* Minimum of 2 years of design experience in the industry

Preferred Qualifications

* Proficient Pro-E, AutoCAD, Inventor

* Must have good file management skills within CAD packages as well as other areas.

* Must be able to work in a group and have good interpersonal communication skills.
